Real Irish Weddings: Caroline and Ciaran's city centre love affair
Caroline - a manager for a charity within UCD - and Ciaran - who works for an oil distribution company - met in secondary school and became more than friends after their first date, which didn't exactly go to plan.
"We met for a couple of drinks before going for dinner but ended up walking all the way to Rathmines before we got something as we hadn't booked anywhere in advance."
Ciaran popped the question last year near Powerscourt waterfall in an area surrounded by ferns.
The pair opted for a wedding in Dublin City Centre with a reception in Exchequer Street's Fallon & Byrne. The day began in the stunning Newman University Church on St Stephen's Green and Caroline's uncle, a priest, performed the ceremony. Ciaran and Caroline rented a Tuk-Tuk to cart them around the city for photos but only after stopping in Brogan's Bar for a quick pint.
The gents were clad by Magee at Arnotts while the bride found her dress at Eden Manor Bridal. The couple made use of their connections, with Ciaran's brother Donal Mangan designing the invitations, menus and table cards, while his mother worked with friends to create the beautiful bouquets. To stay on theme, the tables were named after Dublin landmarks and featured centrepieces of milk-bottles wrapped in ribbons, which were used as vases.
After their metropolitan day, Caroline and Ciaran honeymooned in Iceland where they explored the island as well as staying in Reykjavik.
