Real Irish Weddings: An unexpected romance for Marianna and Stephen whose mother played first date matchmaker

Both out just to enjoy the night, neither Marianna from Moldova, or Stephen from Dublin expected to meet the love of their life in the local nightclub.
The pair met through mutual friends on a fateful night in 2011 and haven't separated since.
And their first date brought them closer than ever when Stephen invited Marianna to his brother's gig, where she also met another brother of his, his sister and, rather unexpectedly for her, his mother.
Having been together three years, Stephen popped the question in truly romantic fashion, taking Marianna out to a restaurant on Valentine's Day where, at the end of the meal, a waiter appeared with a heart-shaped cake with the big question iced on top.
Marianna and Stephen held their church ceremony in St Patrick's Church in Kilquade, Co Wicklow, incorporating Moldovan and Greek Orthodox traditions in the ceremony, before moving on to their wedding reception at Druids Glen, Co Wicklow.
"From the first day we stepped in to Druids Glen, we felt like we were at home. The atmosphere was relaxed and the staff were amazing," says Marianna.
The bride wanted a unique dress that made her feel special, and after having no luck in Ireland, she decided to travel to Moldova to find the perfect gown, eventually settling on a dress by an English designer.
Stephen and Marianna jetted off on honeymoon to Cancun, Mexico, to soak up the sun after their big day.
