Real Irish Weddings: A sparkling New Year's Eve party was perfect for Anne-Marie and Stephen
Anne-Marie and Stephen met while studying at college and after dating for a while towards the end of their course, the pair went separate ways before bumping into each other in a nightclub several years later.
In 2013 Stephen took Anne-Marie for a surprise meal on the Guinness barge and as Anne-Marie stood up to leave the chilly deck in the evening, Stephen seized his opportunity to get down on one knee.
The pair decided on a New Year's Eve wedding to coincide with family and friends' travel plans. Looking for a homely venue the pair sought out a private house and were delighted to come across Leixlip Manor in Kildare with Anne-Marie saying, "As soon as we stepped into the amazing ballroom with the gorgeous chandeliers, we knew it was the perfect place."
After some shopping around Anne-Marie found her dream dress at The Bridal Corner in Dublin's Glasnevin and owing to the New Year's celebrations, her bridesmaids wore "sparkly dresses to look like champagne glasses", from Julien McDonald at Debenhams.
Anne Marie added lots of pretty personal touches to the day personalising clothes hangers for the bridesmaids, upcycling a Christmas decoration for the cake topper and even personalising the clocks dotted around the place with their names.
As their new year and life together started, Stephen and Anne-Marie honeymooned in Cuba, fulfilling a lifelong dream for them.
