Real Irish Weddings: A peacock-themed wedding for lovebirds Sue and Barry

Sue, from Limerick, met Barry, from Cavan, on a fateful night out in Galway seven years ago when her friend asked him if he would take a photo of them together. On New Year's Eve 2012 Barry got down on one knee at a restaurant.
The pair opted for a humanist ceremony and chose Hotel Doolin as the venue for their special day, holding both the ceremony and reception there.
Sue says that the relaxed vibe, delicious food, and beautiful scenery of Doolin, Co Clare made it a stand-out choice. "We had full rein in how the ceremony room, reception and marquee was decorated. Nothing was a problem, every suggestion and request was met with such high standard."
Barry came up with a theme of peacock colours and the pair chose their décor accordingly, incorporating 200 feathers, which they sourced online, into the centrepieces, napkins and boutonnières for the groomsmen.
The bride found her dress at B Couture, Wicklow and got her colourful shoes on sale at Debenhams, while the groom got his suit at Love Suit in Dublin city. Sue also wanted a dash of pink with her dress and on the way down to Doolin she popped into Tesco to buy flowers for her bouquet, assembling it the night before with teal and white ribbons she had bought in Hickeys.
On the morning of the wedding the best man delivered a wrapped surprise to Sue. Barry had spent weeks putting together a book for her about their relationship with pictures, memories, poems and wishes for the future, a gift which, naturally, had the entire wedding party in tears.
After their special day, Sue and Barry took a dream break with a safari in Kenya followed by a beach holiday in Zanzibar.
