As the media frenzy over Pippa Middleton's nuptials reaches fever pitch, reports are already swirling about the next royal wedding on the cards.

Prince Harry is reportedly on the cusp of asking girlfriend - Suits actress Meghan Markle - for her hand in marriage, having already sought-out the his grandmother, Britain's Queen Elizabeth's, permission.

“The way it’s going, the engagement will probably happen this year," a source told Star Magazine. "Harry has got approval from the Queen to propose to Meghan, he’s already had those conversations with Her Majesty. An engagement is imminent.”

Talk of the couple getting hitched comes just after Harry and Meghan were snapped sharing a kiss at the Audi Polo Challenge at Coworth Park in Ascot last week.

Many people drew comparisons between other royal relationships which were confirmed at a similar event, including brother William and sister-in-law Kate's, and mother and father Charles and Diana's courtship.

Although Pippa's apparent 'no ring no bring' rule would rule out the actress from attending the high profile wedding on Saturday, it has now been confirmed that she will attend the nuptials as Harry's plus one.

The royal-by-association wedding will take place in the Middleton household in Bucklebury, Berkshire, where a huge glass marquee and plush 'portaloo structure' has been erected ahead of the big day.

Pippa will marry hedge fund manager James Matthews at St. Mark's Church this Saturday, with niece and nephew Charlotte and George as flower girl and page boy.

It is believed that sister Kate will not act as a bridesmaid on the day, despite Pippa being maid of honour for her wedding six years ago.
