Aoibhin Garrihy is the definition of the laid-back bride.

The former Fair City actress will wed long-term love John Burke in September but she isn't getting bogged down by the small things. The couple, who have been together for five years, will exchange vows later this summer in Doolin, Co Clare before celebrating at John's Hotel Armada in Spanish Point.

And while Aoibhin was keeping details of her dress, which is Irish-designed, under wraps, she did say she hasn't had any fittings yet.

“The dress is being made at the moment by an Irish designer. She’s amazing. She’s designing it, but I’ve yet to try it on. She’s designing all of the girls dresses as well.

“It’s a bit of a risk, but we’re having our first fitting next week," she told VIP Magazine.

Garrihy, who shot to prominence playing Neasa Dillon on the RTE soap, is currently touring with The Importance of Being Earnest and will be setting up in South Carolina for 17 days from May 27 at the Spoleto Festival.

The 28-year-old said it helps having a fiancé in the hospitality business and can pre-empt any issues before they occur.

"I think people can get totally overwhelmed by it, but for me it hasn't happened. I'm more interested in the stationery," she explained earlier this year.

"John is in the business, so it's great to have him. He's done a lot of weddings, so he knows what he's doing - and it's in his spot as well.

"He's actually letting me do my thing but if I come to him with an outrageous idea, he's like 'Aoibhin... what are you doing?'. But that's good."
