Inside Jessica Simpson's lavish €1.4m wedding
As one of Hollywood's wealthiest women, Jessica Simpson's €1.4m wedding is still a drop in the hat.
The former singer wed long-term partner and father of her two children, Eric Johnson two weeks ago, and the big day was featured exclusively for People magazine.
The pair wed in a lavish four-day ceremony at California's San Ysidro Ranch over Fourth of July weekend and spared no expense when it came to entertaining their 276 guests.
They are believed to have spent a whopping €300,000 on food alone, which included a BBQ, rehearsal dinner and renting out the property's entire restaurant to ensure privacy.
Her couture Carolina Herrera gown cost more than a reported €30,000 and she accessorised on her big day with 12-carat diamond earrings by celebrity jeweller Neil Lane.
Their nuptials may have been awe-inspiring, but it was still her two adorable children who stole the show. Two-year-old flower girl Maxwell and one-year-old ring bearer Ace both received standing ovations as they made their way up the aisle.
The newlyweds are currently on their honeymoon in Mexico and Jessica has officially taken her husband's last name and changed her social media handles to Jessica Johnson.
“I saw my gorgeous wife coming towards me and she was crying,” Eric recalled. “I think my heart was exploding a little.”
Jessica added: “It's so surreal. This has been something we've wanted ever since we met.”
The happy couple had planned to get married a long time ago, but the arrival of their little ones meant they needed to change their plans. Last year Jessica freely admitted she had thought she’d be a wife before she became a mother.
