First Look: Former Fair City star Aoibhin Garrihy weds long-term love John in Clare
Actress Aoibhin Garrihy has wed her partner John Burke in a lavish beachside ceremony.
The former Fair City star (28) has been dating the businessman for six years and he popped the question during a romantic stroll of the Cliffs of Moher in 2015.
And the couple naturally decided to wed at the four-star Armada Hotel where John is managing director, in Spanish Point, Co Clare.
Garrihy shot to fame in 2010 when she landed the role of Neasa Dillon the popular RTE soap and has since appeared on The Fall, as well as turning her hand to stage roles around the world.
But she didn't have to share the spotlight today as she stunned in a custom-made white gown by Irish designer Emma Manley which was encrusted with Swarovski crystals
The ceremony wasn't short of star power as her former co-star Aoibheann McCaul was in attendance, while her sisters Doireann and Ailbhe acted as bridesmaids.
While Aoibhin might be a regular on the Dublin social scene, she decided to shun a glossy magazine deal for her wedding in order to keep it a "sentimental day".
"There's a lot of pressure on people now to put on productions, and I'm kind of allergic to that," she said.
"It's more about the people and the place and the day itself than the glitz and the glam. I hope it'll be a sentimental day," she said.
"It's really important for me to have my family involved in aspects of the ceremony and the music, my family are all very musical.
"All those little things are important," she added.
The adventurous newlyweds will spend their honeymoon in Myanmar for three weeks.
