Cork mum gets tattoo of local radio station in effort to win daughter €25,000 wedding
Irish mammies are well known for their dedication to their children, but one Cork woman has gone beyond the call of duty.
Jackie Bowdren agreed to get a tattoo of local radio station Red FM with her daughter Rachel and Rachel's fiance Patrick's names on her back in an effort to win them a wedding worth €25,000.
The competition prize includes reception, honeymoon, wedding dress, groom's wear and wedding rings and the station has been setting difficult challenges for contestants.
Some had to strip on a busy Patrick Street in Cork, others had to sit in a paddling pool full of baked beans and another had to wear a sign saying, "I am single and desperately seeking a husband."
None were quite so challenging, or permanent, as Jackie's large back tattoo, which she had done at Tattoo Zoo in Cork.
"Jackie was given the option to get whatever she wanted tattooed anywhere she wanted on her body and any size," wrote Red FM on their official Facebook page.
"She decided to go all out."
The winner will be announced at Sunday's Wedding Journal Show at the Silver Springs Convention Centre.
Wedding Journal Show - Jackie Gets Inked!
Jackie was one of the many people who said they'd get a tattoo to get their friends or family in the final of the Wedding Journal Show so we said we'd see if she was a woman of her word! Jackie accepted the challenge and got a tattoo for her daughter Rachel and her fiancé Patrick. We gave Jackie completely free choice to pick the design, the size and where she wanted the tattoo.
