It turns out, Beyonce is a human after all.

Contrary to popular belief, she is a living, breathing human woman and not a goddess among us, gracing the world with her presence.

We love Beyonce for many reasons - her talent, her determination and apparently, her beauty.

When less than flattering photos were leaked last night from her L'Oreal 2013 campaign, the internet went into meltdown. After just an hour, the Beyonce fan forum which published the photos, pulled them due to the backlash.

Let's compare this with Cindy Crawford, whose Marie Claire Mexico photos from 2013 were leaked just last week.

Cindy, another world famous beauty, was praised for days for her un-airbrushed body, which is obviously in incredible shape, but different to the Vogue version we're used to seeing.

She was hailed for being a 'real' woman (a phrase I've never understood as I foolishly thought we were all real) and championing healthy body image.

Both of these photos were released without their approval, but only one is upsetting fans.

Cindy's are still circulating around the Internet and Marie Claire even issued a statement praising her gorgeousness.

But Bey's didn't last more than 60 minutes. Sure, they're still available to everyone with access to a search engine, but the original hosts pulled them "due to the disdain of the BeyHive."

It's only the second time I can recall the veil of perfection slip from what might be the carefully crafted image in showbusiness (the first being the elevator incident with Solange last year).

The reason Beyonce's image is so, well, perfect, is because she doesn't want to be seen as a regular girl and neither do her fans.

She's been guilty of Photoshopping her own pictures, tried to approve all concert images and subsequently retract the unflattering ones. And she posts photos like this on Tumblr.

What makes Beyonce so special? She has that X Factor. Even in her Destiny’s Child days, we forgave her for treating band members like musical chairs as we just assumed she knew what she was doing – she is a survivor after all.

There’s also the added bonus that she’s the antithesis of her perceived public rival Kim Kardashian, a woman the phrase ‘love to hate’ was invented for.

What I’m saying is, Beyonce stands for all the right things – independence, female empowerment, education – so, if she’s a little bit of a diva, what’s the harm?
