What the experts say

Published 18/10/2012 | 06:00

Relationship psychologist Allison Keating from Dublin's bWell clinic (bWell.ie) says: "As a society we have a real issue with women who are 40, childfree and single that's hard to understand.

"As a clinician, it's concerning to see women settling because they feel it's what they 'should' do.

"So many women, and men, make the wrong decisions because of familial or social pressure.

"It's admirable when someone says 'this isn't for me'."
