Olympian and soldier are set to marry after a whirlwind 12 week romance.
Olympian skeleton racer turned Channel 5 oadcaster Amy Williams admitted dating in your thirties is “so hard”.
The Gold medalist told Hello! magazine that said she had almost given up hope of meeting the right man and had resigned herself to being single.
“For me, Bath is such a small city, everyone knows everyone. So you don’t meet new people. I had reached the conclusion that I was just going to be happy on my own,” she added.
However, thanks to popular dating app Tinder, the 31-year-old found her knight in shining armour in Craig Ham.
She said both parties felt an immediate “special bond”.
“We felt we had known each other forever. I really believe in soulmates, and instantly, it was like, I know this guy. It’s as if he has always been there,” she said.
After winning gold in 2010’s Winter Olympics, Williams was in the BBC team for the Sochi Olympics earlier this year.
She was the first British individual gold medallist at a Winter Olympics for 30 years and the only British medallist of those specific Olympics.
She states that in Craig, she has found the guy she has “always been looking and hoping for”.
Soldier Craig added, “At first I didn’t know what to expect because of Amy’s job and being in the spotlight. But I soon realised she is really down to earth and has a heart of gold. And we really clicked.”
