While the majority of the population might be busy at work by the time 3PM ticks along, new research has revealed that the afternoon is the best time to have passionate encounters.
The study, conducted by hormone expert Alisa Vitti revealed that 3PM is the time both men and women are most receptive to one another’s desires.
The expert revealed that women have higher levels of the hormone cortisol during this time, while men have elevated levels of oestrogen in the afternoon, which makes them ‘more emotionally present’ during sex.
The new findings clash with a recent study that suggested the morning time was in fact the best time to have passionate sex.
Hormone expert Vitti has christened 3PM as ‘afternoon delight’ in her new guide ‘WomanCode’.
“While [the afternoon] might not seem like a logical set up for satisfaction, given the previous endorsement of testosterone, the combination actually makes men more emotionally present during sex and better able to focus on a woman’s needs and satisfaction,” said Ms Vitti.
“The best time for women to get it on is midday to late afternoon. This is when cortisol is still abundant and energy is high,” she said.
