Diner sequel of sorts for age-defying Ellen
It's official: 57 is the new 27. Well, Gabriel Byrne's ex-wife Ellen Barkin is dating and living with a man half her age, 27-year-old actor Sam Levinson. Good for Ellen, I say. In an intriguing twist, Sam is the son of director Barry Levinson who launched Ellen's film career in 1982 with Diner.
The New York Post's legendary Page Six gossip column reported the romance: "They go out, they're photographed together, they don't keep it secret."
Nor is it a secret that Ellen's ex, Gabriel, has moved from his Brooklyn Heights townhouse (it was priced at $4.7m when it went on the market at the end of October 2009, and sold for $5,242,027 in April 2010) to a new abode -- a three-bedroom condo in the downtown Manhattan neighbourhood known as Nolita, meaning north of Little Italy -- which he bought for more than $3m. Who is he going to share it with? No one, it seems.
Gabriel hasn't been seen with Anna George for a long time, and the Big Rumour in the Big Apple is that they are no longer an item. My source added that Anna wanted marriage. The New York Post recently posted a picture of the acclaimed Irish actor walking around Chinatown with a young woman who the newspaper claimed was his girlfriend. Is she? Is America's hottest acting property (In Treatment has lifted him to a new level) single again? It would be easier to find out who Keyser Soze was in Gabriel's crime classic The Usual Suspects.
