Is Jennifer Aniston bringing back this 90's hair trend?
Jennifer Aniston looked to be bringing back a questionable 90's hair trend in a photo that appeared on Instagram.
Aniston's friend and make-up artist Gucci Westman shared a snap of the actress and her hairdresser, Chris McMillan, on Instagram Friday.
In the photo, it appeared that the former Friends star was sporting a look that will be recognisable to anyone who grew up in the 90's and early noughties: two chunky blonde strips of hair that frame the face.
Thankully, Aniston's rep confirmed that the Hollywood star hasn't changed her hairstyle so it would appear the highlights are just a devious trick of light.
We were slightly worried for a moment... with chokers, brown lipstick and all things 90's making a comeback, we feared that it wouldn't be long before this hairstyle found its way into 2016.
Chunky highlights, stripy highlights, zebra highlights - whatever you want to refer to them as - were basically the anti-ombré.
They weren't meant to look like the hair has been naturally sunkissed but rather to give a more deliberate effect.
The 90's featured many offenders of this crime to hair.
The first American Idol winner was a big fan of tiger stripes. Note the early noughties layers and flat-iron hair.
Nicole Appleton (second from left) seems to be the worst offender of the group. Never ever have we ever felt so low.
Ginger Spice unabashedly flaunts her mid-90's chunky, face-framing highlights.
The British girlband were the worst offenders of our time.
