Get the look: Pippa O'Connor
Beige tones are a nice way to give a nod to the current 70s trend if you've had enough of denim, brown suede and swirly paisley-style prints. It's also a nice take on winter whites, if you're already feeling a little bit of Christmas-season red-and-black fatigue.
Keep it from getting too dull with a brocade textured skirt. If you are after the 70s look, a block-heel on your winter boots, or a saddle-bag - both seen here on Pippa - are a way to dip into the trend that won't date after this season.
I'm looking for a budget pair of pointed-toe stiletto heels in black leather. I don't want them to be too high, and they need to tick all the boxes and multi-task: good for work, for smart-casual drinks, and with a dress for a night out. They are everywhere in the shops, obviously, but I want them to be comfortable! I'm a size six and find that this size looks great, but pinches where the toe's point begins. Size sevens slip off. What shops do half sizes? I'm willing to invest if needed, but I'd like a pair for less than €60, if they exist.
Reply: Try the Marks & Spencer wide-fit range, in a size six. They currently have a pair of almond-toed (not a round toe, not severely pointed) black courts, €25, with a mid-height heel. Debenhams also has a pair of wide-fit, mid-heel courts, which have a gently-pointed toe, €33. With a slightly higher heel, the Asos Privilege range also has a pair of black, suede-look heels, €34.56; and a pair of black, pointed-toe courts, also €34.56, which come in half sizes.
