Get the look: Jenny Buckley
White top, black trousers, pair of heels. On paper, it sounds rather boring.
But as TV presenter Jenny Buckley proves, they are called classics for a reason. This is a great 'take you anywhere' outfit. If you're not a fan of leopard print on clothes, it's always worth considering it for accessories. A bit of leopard print works really well to liven an outfit up, and in its own way, it is a bit of a 'goes with anything' classic.
I'm starting a new job and I'd like to get one or two new suits. It's a fairly senior position and I'd like to make something of an impression. I'd rather buy a few, so high-street prices rather than designer would be great.
As an alternative to the straightforward trouser suit, Zara has a gorgeous grey sweater set - a funnel-necked, short-sleeved (for air-conditioned offices) top, €29.95, and matching wide-leg trousers, €39.95. While Cos doesn't push a matchy-matchy look, they have endless beautifully-cut black trousers; and some in navy also. Avoid the hassle of trying to find a match and pair the trousers with a neutral blazer in grey or beige. Marks & Spencer has a great selection of matching separates in red and blue at the moment. It's a bolder choice, but if you're going to be a boss, why not? There is a choice of trousers, skirt or culottes, making it easier to find a silhouette that suits your shape, and we love the cut of the one-button blazer - ideally, favour it over a two-button style, which can look a bit dumpy.
