Travel bright for weekend away

I'm brilliant at finding bargains but lousy at packing. This spring, my selfimposed rule is to pack judiciously for an overnight trip or weekend away.
Layer up in bright colours, my inner voice tells me. This dressing style helps you to mix and match and, if you throw on the layers while travelling, you can avoid excess luggage charges. With that in mind, I checked out the new spring-summer offerings from Peruzzi, the Italian-themed brand, which means you can achieve that chic, Neapolitan look while keeping your money in Ireland.
Pretty dresses, lightweight cardigans and shrugs, plus sheer fabric mixed with uplifting colours all feature in the collection. The key pieces shown here were shot by photographer German Collins in Lisbon, and you will find them at choice boutiques around the country and selected Carraig Donn stores (www.peruzzi.ie). W
TOP UP YOUR TAN
I'm totally in love with tan at the moment, both as a block colour and for belts and bags. Good investment accessories, such as a tan belt, will lift the most basic cheap jeans, shorts — and the safari jacket, which is all the rage this summer, so move fast when this Savida one comes to Dunnes on March 13.
Coleen Rooney has a definite style of her own, and her range at Littlewoods might surprise you, particularly this leather biker jacket costing €179. Tan works well with black, but I recommend combining tan and navy. Wedges, such as these Abelia ones from Pied a Terre, are brilliant weekend warriors.
