Topshop act over 'too thin' model image

Topshop remove image of model Codie Young from their website after complaints she looks too thin.
Codie Young, 18, who is signed to model agency Viva - who also represent top models Natalia Vodianova and Karen Elson - was pictured on the homepage of Topshop's website last week in a shot which made her look as if a gust of wind might blow her away.
Topshop last night replaced the image with an alternative shot of Young looking healthier, after admitting that the original shot could 'accentuate Codie's proportions making her head look bigger and neck longer in proportion to her body'.
Topshop have refused to remove any other images of Young, who Topshop claim is a size 8, maintaining 'Codie is a healthy young woman'.
Young recently landed her first cover for Australian Vogue and is listed on Viva's website as having vital statistics of 31/23/33.
Responding to criticism from the Daily Mail, who suggested Codie's large sunglasses were to 'hide sunken eyes - a symptom of under-eating', and that she is pictured wearing size 4 clothing, a Topshop spokesman said: "Codie does not have the sunken eyes referred to in your piece - the sunglasses are featured because we retail them and they make up part of the look. There are many images where Codie's eyes are in full view and in fact they are one of her most stunning features. Furthermore, Topshop only retails size 4 within our Petite range. This range wouldn't be appropriate for Codie as she would be too tall at 5ft 10in."
While there's no doubt the original image is pretty shocking, Topshop were at least swift to respond to the criticism levelled at them. Do you think the new image is an improvement?
