The charity event is in celebration of amfAR's 20th anniversary and will feature glittering, gold pieces in memory of amfAR's late founding international chairman, Elizabeth Taylor.

As well as Tom, fashion houses Louis Vuitton, Alexander McQueen, Burberry, Prada, Givenchy, Lanvin, Marchesa and many others have been asked to help.

"This event is unique, because I don't really know if there's any like it, where you really have so much of the best of our culture converge in one place, at one time, and create something so extraordinary," amfAR chairman Kenneth Cole explained to WWD.

"We always go into this thing with a sense of what's going to happen, but no absolute plan. We know who's in the room, and people are given a chance to get involved in the evening. It's unscripted, and it feels very organic and it's very inspiring."

Just like last year, Carine Roitfeld and Naomi Campbell will be organising the fashion extravaganza.

In 2012, the focus was on all-black creations, but this year is set to leave a serious impression with its theme.

"I picked the gold theme because gold is extraordinary. Since it's the 20th year of this event, I thought people should walk away with an incredible memory," Carine said.

"For me, this is really a tribute to Elizabeth Taylor. When you think of her in Cleopatra, you have this very powerful image of gold and beauty."

The show will see 40 of the hottest models right now take to the catwalk and industry favourites Heidi Klum and Milla Jovovich are acting as co-chairs.

The event is guaranteed to draw an impressive fashion crowd, with stylish A-lister Nicole Kidman already rumoured to be joining the Cannes judging panel.
