Amber le bon shows she has stepped out her famous parents' shadow, but for Paris Hilton, desperation is never a good look.

Amber le bon

Yasmin who? She may have followed in her mother's high-heeled footsteps but, in case we were in any doubt, Amber Le Bon's appearance on this red carpet shows that this Mini-Me has well and truly stepped out of her famous parent's shadow. And, let's face it, it was a tough assignment.

Even the starriest of supermodels might have been stumped – and Amber's not quite in that league just yet. Just what do you wear to a party with a 'Timeless' theme? We can sympathise. After all, haven't we all done it? Stood at the open door of our bulging wardrobes and declared that we've got nothing, absolutely nothing, to wear?

In Amber's case, a sparkly full-length gown has come to the rescue. We're sure that Daddy Le Bon, aka the sartorially-smart Simon, is oh-so-proud of his girl right now.

Desperation is never a good look. So pity poor Paris, who has been forced to pull out all the stops in order to get noticed by a paparazzi focusing their collective lens on the antics of Miley, Rihanna, and so on.

We really do feel for her. We're pretty certain that she really didn't want to show off quite so much skin. But the red carpet is an unforgiving place these days.

And, if you're famous for being famous, you do have to stand out from all the other reality TV wannabes.

After all, Paris and her model boyfriend, River, are no Kimye. It's a shame really. We would have hoped that, by now, the 33-year-old 'star' of The Simple Life would be following in the oh-so-fashionable footsteps of her former BFF Nicole Richie.

But, judging from Paris's ill-fitting heels, it'll be a while before we're lauding Ms Hilton's stylish life.
