The original supers showing how it’s done: Claudia Schiffer (43) is Dolce and Gabbana’s latest poster girl
If you needed more proof that the iconic supermodels of the 1990s are enjoying a return to the limelight- here is Claudia Schiffer enjoying a starring role in Dolce and Gabbana’s Autumn Winter 2014 advertisements.
The German model plays a central role in the images, shot by Domenico Dolce, which convey a group of people in a stylised wood setting.
The 43-year-old pro is joined by a gaggle of familiar Dolce and Gabbana campaign stars including Bianca Balti, Kate Bogucharskaia, and Nastya Sten.
The women are split into two groups; those wearing elaborate Medieval inspired chainmail and bejeweled costumes, and others wearing classic form-fitting Dolce and Gabbana designs.
The design duo routinely produce captivating seasonal campaigns, and always champion their ideal of feminine beauty, so it is no surprise that a woman of Claudia's prolific beauty is being featured.
For a supposedly ageist industry, the high-earning supermodels of the 1980s and 1990s look to be more in demand than ever.
Christy Turlington and Yasmin Le Bon are both back in their swimsuits in campaigns for Calvin Klein and Speedo respectively, while Elle MacPherson, Naomi Campbell et al never hung up their catwalk crowns.
Eva Herzigova, of infamous Wonderbra ‘Hello Boys’ fame, also appeared is Dolce and Gabbana’s Spring Summer 2014 adverts.
