The €100 style challenge

Each month we, at Independent Woman, will be scouring the stores in search of price conscious outfits for every occasion. This month we hit the high street in search of a Christmas party outfit for Clarie Wallnutt, a 22 year old graduate from Dublin.
Claire wanted a feminine dress that would stand out but was keen to avoid the typical Christmas cliches. The frills, the lace and red tones work well for some, but we decided to go for something slightly different and settled on some very figure hugging satin styling. Tk Maxx, Asos and theoutnet were all raided but in the end Forever21 spared our blushes with a perfectly purple cocktail dress at €26.80.
Were it not for the €75 price tag a stunning pair of Kurt Geiger heels might have been ours. Finding no joy with Awear the sales at Arnotts were not found wanting. Leather peep-toe sandals from Buffalo were perfect for the party look and at €55 (reduced from €150) we were left decidedly on budget.
The final touches
With only €17 left for accessories we were never going to reach for the Tiffany's catalogue. In need of a classic twist a black clutch was added for the less than princely sum of €6.50 thanks to Oxfam on Georges St and for the finishing touch a pair of feathered hooped earrings were had for €4.80 at Forever 21.
Claire's outfit came in at just €93.10 with enough left over to add a glass of some seasonal cheer to calm those party nerves.
