Deshauna Barber has definitely been catching up on Miss Congeniality.
The 26-year-old US Army officer was crowned Miss USA on Sunday night represented a positive change in the international pageant ranks - the top five were based on their political and economic beliefs.
Barber, from Washington DC, campaigned on gender equality and veterans issues and will now go on to compete at the Miss Universe pageant.
But the real standout moment of the three-hour broadcast is watching the exact moment Barber realised she won. And completely lost it.
Holding hands with Miss Hawaii Chelsea Hardin - "This could be it."
"This is it! You've got this. You've practiced 1000 times."
"Okay, this is real. You don't have this."
"Can somebody hold my hand please?"
"S***. You're on live tv. Get it together."
"WALK, dammit. And WAVE like the queen you are."
