The autumnal racing season is already upon us.
Laura Hanlon from Roscmommon scooped the lucrative Most Elegant Lady at the Longines Irish Champions Weekend at The Curragh Racecourse on Sunday, beating out stiff competition - and she did it in a muted peplum dress by Irish designer Niamh O'Neill.
The Prize for Elegance features a total value of €25,000 in prizes and Ms Hanlon has has taken home quite the prize including a €3,000 shopping spree with Irish designer Louise Kennedy and a year's worth of hairdressing appointments at David Marshall Hair Salon, worth €2,000.
The Most Elegant Lady will receive a €3,000 shopping spree at Kildare Village along with a year’s hairdressing at David Marshall Hair Salons worth €2,000. She will also receive a stunning timepiece from title sponsor Longines from their latest collection.
Stylist Ingrid Hoey and actress Pandora McCormack were recruited to scope out the style this weekend, eventually selecting Hanlon and Christopher Hegarty from Co Tyrone as the best dressed pair. Both winners were gifted pieces from title sponsor Longines. On Saturday, winners at Leopardstown Racecourse were gifted similar prizes as above, but also including a stay at the penthouse suite of Dublin's Merrion Hotel, including a spa treatment at Tethra Spa, a champagne breakfast and dinner in the Cellar Restaurant.
The search for individual style didn't end there - Hoey and blogger Rosie Connolly were at Leopardstown Racecourse on Saturday and crowned Gillian Duggan from Galway as the Champion Hat winner. She scooped an overnight stay at Dublin's Dylan Hotel and a jeroboam of Moët & Chandon.
Note to self: It's time to start entering best dressed competitions!
