It turns out Jared Leto really wasn't that excited to see that green jacket on runway after all

Jared Leto found internet superstardom this week all thanks to a jacket.

Never one to march to anyone else's drum but his own, he treated the red carpet like a runway in his green Gucci button down coat for Suicide Squad's London premiere on Wednesday night.

And sure, the jacket was Joker-esque - paired with pink trousers and the Italian fashion house's trademark loafers - but it looked like it was love at first sight for the actor.

Pictures surfaced of Leto at Gucci's AW16 fashion show during Milan Fashion Week looking beyond excited to see the design.

See for yourself...

But now the Oscar-winning actor has broken down the picture (and our hearts) to explain the much less exciting reality of what really happened.

“The thing about the photo is—I’m going to be honest with you—I was actually making a face at someone across the runway,” Leto told VF.com.

“I have that feeling with most things [Gucci] makes because they make such beautiful things. But I was actually goofing off with a friend, and you can’t actually tell from the picture.

“Sorry to ruin your meme. Perception versus reality.”
