Irish models to watch out for in 2016
Thanks to social media, the crop of Irish models being recognised here and abroad is on the rise.
Clara McSweeney, 18, Macroom, Co Cork
Clara was discovered by model boss Andrea Roche when she was 15 and after honing her craft in Ireland for the last three years, she moved to New York to try her hand at the big time over the summer. She’s currently signed with IMG Model and her Bridal Fashion Week debut in September, the biggest agency in the world, and we predict big things for her.
Emily Butcher, 18, Galway
Another AR scout, this rising star is based in London where she is signed to Next Models. She was exclusively hired by Gucci during Milan Fashion week in January and September, and if she’s good enough for Gucci…
Shauna Lindsay, 19, Limerick
Shauna marks the new generation of the ‘Irish model’, the commercial looks with a social media profile to boot. With nearly 20,000 followers on Instagram, this teenage fashion queen , who is signed to Celia Holman Lee’s agency is Limerick might be 2016’s answer to Georgia Penna (nee Salpa).
Louise Sweeney, 21, Co. Leitrim
She’s signed to First Option models in Dublin, D1 Models in London and NO Logo in Milan, she’s the mult-tasking student balancing a career on the catwalk with her medicine studies.
Tabea Weyrauch, 21, Derry
Tabea has been on the scene for some time, having appeared on 2010 RTE show The Model Scouts and spending the last four years living in Paris, signed with IMG Models.
