Irish designer Eamonn McGill designed a show-stopping dress in just three days for Big Brother star Lateysha Grace for the National Reality Television Awards on Thursday night.

The floor-length gold gown featured sequin and embroidery panel detailing and a cut out back, making Lateysha one of the best dressed on the night.

The figure-hugging dress had a mesh fish tail finish, allowing her gold strappy sandals to peek through, while the reality star wore her hair sleek and striaght.

Fashion graduate Eamonn McGill said designing the dress came about through Instagram.

"I was working on a few pieces for Suzanne Jackson for some upcoming events when my phone beeped and I saw an Instagram tag from a friend," he told Independent.ie.

"She tagged me in a post on Lateysha's page about her looking for a gown for an event and I thought nothing of it. She then reached out to me, and next thing I know I'm on the phone to Lateysha planning what we could do."

"I had three days to make a garment that was show stopping. I felt like it was the Golden Globes dress all over again," said Eamonn speaking about the dress he designed in just over seven days for the awards earlier this year.

"It was all quite sudden and out of nowhere, but it was the best news I got all day. Social media really has the power to do anything these days."

Eamonn used fabric from local shops to get the dress finished in such a short amount of time, before flying to London the morning of the event.

"I used a beautiful gold lace from WM Trimmings. I had to stay local with fabrics due to the short time frame. They were more than helpful."

"We cut the lace up into motifs and hand-sewed the entire thing. I was lucky to have the help of a few people from the studio in When Poppy Met Daisy on Capel Street. We all worked together to get it done," he added.

"I flew out on the Thursday morning of the event praying that everything would fit and I would have no serious alternations to do. Thankfully, it fitted like a glove. I was more than happy with the look."

"Lateysha was such a lovely person to deal with, very understanding and sweet. It was a quick dash to the airport to get my flight home that night! To wake up to such an amazing response across the British tabloids was an amazing feeling," he finshed.

The 25-year-old Dundalk couturier lists Amanda Byram, Nadia Forde and Holly Carpenter among his previous clients, to name a few.

With experience on the red carpet home and abroad, there's no doubt that Eamonn is one of Ireland's most promising up-and-coming designers - and definitely one to watch.

Lateysha, 23, appeared as contestant on the seventeenth series of Big Brother earlier this year, and was eliminated after five weeks.

Her first appearance on reality television was for MTV show The Valleys, which she has starred in for all three series.
