The hottest looks from the red carpet and from the streets of Ireland

Hit:  Blake Lively

Somebody call the fashion police, because Blake Lively completely killed it at the Council of Fashion Designers of America Awards in New York this week.

Gossip Girl star Blake got tongues wagging for all the right reasons in a spangly Michael Kors mini-dress fresh from the designer's Resort 2015 collection.

Hot on the heels of her red carpet run at Cannes, the Brigitte Bardot lookalike added sky-high Casadei heels, hoop earrings and a stack of bangles.

Even her blush pink manicure matched her headband.

But it's the sun-kissed skin and tumbling tresses that really swings it for the sixties-inspired star.

All this, and she gets to go home to husband Ryan Reynolds at night.

Some people have all the luck.

Miss: Rihanna

You've heard the expression 'Fur coat, no knickers'?

Well, when Rihanna also stepped out at the CFDA Awards, it was more like 'Fur stole, little else but knickers.'

There's no denying that the Bajan beauty has a banging body.

But does she have to show quite so much of it off?

From the neck up, the 26-year-old pop superstar – who scooped the 2014 Fashion Icon award – oozed class with a twenties-style headscarf, smokey make-up and art deco earrings.

From the neck down, she looked like a right flapper in a see-through Swarovski crystal gown, matching gloves and pink mink in one of the most divisive looks of the year so far.

Still, it's one way to cause a nipple – sorry, ripple – on the red carpet.
