Last year saw breakout style stars in the form of Bella Hadid, Lily Rose Depp, Adwoah Aboah and our own Saoirse Ronan. Here are the names to keep an eye on over the next 12 months:

Ruth Negga

She's a 'Vogue' cover girl, which means she has the stamp of approval from the high priestess of fashion, Anna Wintour, but we remember Ruth when she was Darren's girlfriend on 'Love/Hate'. Now, the Irish/Ethiopian actress is one of Hollywood's finest and tipped for Oscar glory.

Thus, she'll be appearing on many the red carpet over the coming months and is likely to be an early style crush in 2017.

Her looks to date have shown a penchant for high drama and theatrics, with swooping sleeves and bold patterns. She's a fan of romantic Valentino, so is sure to be the adventurous glamour puss's muse for the year to come.

Suzanne Jackson

Blogger Suzanne (pictured above), of SoSueMe.ie, has been an online star for almost six years, and she recently branched out with a beauty brand that's been flying off shelves in pharmacies and Penneys.

Her style is young, trendy and body conscious, and not too difficult to emulate on the high street - a handy one for those who want to look good on a budget.

Suzanne is also due to marry her long-term love Dylan O'Connor in summer 2017, so any brides-to-be can surely take wedding inspiration from the star as well.

Bella Thorne

A former child star whose career is set to go stellar in 2017, Thorne has Irish colouring, the body of a model and a daring sense of style - three things that mean she's sure to resonate big time with Irish ladies.

She has four films coming out next year so will be popping up everywhere, and her look is young, funky, sexy and unexpected.

Those who like to dress with some quirk and personality will want to add Bella's Instagram to their feed.

Emma Stone

Stone has been a fashion It girl for years, but now at the ripe age of 28 (!) her style has matured from Hollywood ingénue to power player. Hotly tipped for an Oscar nod for her performance in buzzy musical 'La La Land', she's another one destined to be everywhere in the first quarter of the new year.

She likes to take risks (remember her pantsuit at the Golden Globes two years ago, or her pink look from the Met Gala in 2014?) yet despite her obvious beauty, she's a fairy normal lass whose looks aren't too tricky to copy.

Selah Marley

Selah Marley

The 17-year-old daughter of R&B icon Lauryn Hill and former American football player Rohan Marley (son of Bob Marley) has not only inherited her mam's natural beauty, she's already making a name for herself in the fashion world, walking the runway for Chanel and Kanye West's Yeezy label and landing campaigns with Calvin Klein and Adidas.

A quick glance at her Instagram profile shows she's already an ace at the street style game, and she's likely to be one of the hottest models of 2017.

Natalie Portman

Another Oscars contender for her portrayal of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, Portman will be pregnant yet again for an awards season in the spotlight. Her bump led to victory for 'Black Swan' in 2011, but whether or not she sweeps the board this year, she'll be providing style ideas for mums-to-be all over the world.

So if you're with child (or planning to be in the near future), Portman is the one to watch for a maternity wardrobe that's chic, flattering and comfortable all at once.

Amanda Byram

The 43-year-old former model and current TV presenter will be hosting RTE's 'Dancing With The Stars' alongside Nicky Byrne, so it's safe to say her glitzy gúnas will be centre stage on every weekly broadcast.

Model Thalia Heffernan is competing and also sure to draw the eye, but it's Amanda's classic, elegant style we're likely to covet.
