Q I'm a size 14 and while my arms and legs are slim, my tummy sticks out. What kind of clothes should I buy to help me look slimmer?

A The band TLC may have crooned 'Don't go chasing waterfalls', but if you want to trick everyone into thinking you have a flat tummy, that's exactly what you should do -- by investing in some waterfall-cut jackets and cardigans!

These have flattering, fluted edges that drape down your front disguising a belly. Try wearing a black base and then adding a colourful waterfall cardi or jacket on top.

Another tip is to choose tailoring with sharp vertical lines that will fake a nipped-in waist. A flattering V-neck wrap dress worn with a scarf or a long pendant necklace will lengthen the body and bring people's eyes up and down your body, further camouflaging your tum!

Draping and ruching on tops, skirts and dresses is another excellent design detail for hiding a tummy. When picking trousers, choose pairs with a flat front and a wide waistband for added support.
