Style dilemma: How to dress light in cold weather

How do I inject some spring style into my wardrobe while still dressing for these cooler temperatures? It's too cold to wear light clothes, but I'm sick of my drab winterwear -- weekends are the worst as I just have no clue how to dress for this climate.
Brightening up your wardrobe doesn't have to involve dying of hypothermia in shorts or cotton dresses.
You can look on-trend with some simple seasonal swap-overs which won't leave your teeth chattering.
Instead of black or grey boyfriend jackets, wear a cream or nude version; Pen-neys has cream jackets for €17, Savida at Dunnes has nude ones for €35.
Next, buy a statement scarf and wear it instead of a woollen one. River Island has a peace-sign print cotton scarf that will add a touch of festival fun to your look.
A mac is a great spring option -- you can always slip on an extra cardigan to stay warm. An M&S Per Una military-style mac will add military chic to your look.
Buy jeans in a paler wash. Topshop motto light tailored denims will work well with heels or sandals.
Clogs are huge this season thanks to Chanel. These look great with light denims and trench and a simple Breton striped top, or with tanned legs and a summer dress.
A striped Breton jumper and a pastel top should be your alternative to winter woolies!
