Style Dilemma: Dressing a plus-size figure for a holy communion

My son is making his First Holy Communion in May and I'm at a loss as to what to wear. I'm 37, 5ft 8in and a size 18. Please help, as I don't know where to start.
A very stressed-out MarionThere are a couple of simple rules to keep in mind when dressing for a Communion: don't wear white and don't flash too much flesh. Abide by these rules and you won't go far wrong.
Communions are a time of celebration, so embrace colour and this season's love affair with orange. The 'Tequila Sunrise' knee-length dress by Biba (1 €116, House of Fraser) is an easy-to-wear wrap style featuring a V-neck, a cinched waist and three-quarter-length sleeves.
Depending on your figure, you may find the V-neck too deep; in this case, wear a simple cami top underneath.
Cobalt blue is another of this year's hottest shades. Evans has it nailed with its gentle dip-hem colour-pop dress (2 €45). Keep it chic by styling it with black open-toe heels and the 'Jessie' monochrome block-stripe clutch (3 €39.90, Accessorize).
Marks & Spencer has a couple of options that might be of interest. The structured Autograph illusion dress (4 €95) is super figure-flattering, while the geometric black, white and yellow colour-block dress by Limited Collection (5 €54) has a soft fit to gently skim over your curves.
Over at Dunnes Stores, the abstract shift dress from Gallery (6 €50) should also work a treat.
