Steal Her Style: Taylor Momsen
Ever since Taylor Momsen burst onto our screens as budding fashion designer Jenny Humphrey, her personal style has commanded attention. And off-screen isn’t much different. With her vampy lips and grungy style she is the ultimate wayward teen.
By day you’ll catch Taylor rocking the laid-back biker look with lots of distressed denim, she tends towards androgynous styles that often look like they’ve been borrowed from a much larger man friend! Think lashings of chequered shirts, statement t-shirts, ripped jeans, short shorts, studded wedge boots, leather, leather and more leather.
At night-time she indulges her inner goth but keeps it glamorous, like a modern day Angelina Jolie, only less scary. Not one to cover up, Taylor frequently sports slashed necklines and mini skirts. She chooses ripped tights or fishnets to enhance the bad girl image she’s trying to cultivate.
Tones are kept understated with lots of black, burgundy and nudes and texture is evident with leather, velvet, lace, sheer and mesh often all at once!
No rock chick is complete without a generous helping of accessories and Taylor is no exception. She loves larger-than-life handbags, scarves, headbands, patterned tights, statement pendants, beanie hats and the ubiquitous cocktail ring. Footwear is always black and chunky with lots of studs and straps.
