Rihanna is one of leaders when it comes to dividing opinion. Whether it’s her songs, her style or her raunchy performance people always have an opinion.

  • Go To

Recently she’s ditched the Gaga-style dominatrix look in favour of something a little softer and more wearable. There seems to be a conscious move towards more feminine dressing and this topped with her new red-hot, poddle ‘do’ mean her style is very much under the spotlight right now.

So, what’s it all about? Well, it’s about standing out, embracing your womanly curves and showing yourself off. But it’s not all about flashing the flesh, Rihanna chooses dresses that hug her impossibly hot body without showing an inch of skin. There’s something very sexy about this and it’s pretty powerful too. Think body skimming floor-length velvet gowns or a pretty silk skirt with tonnes of ruffles.

When she’s on stage however less is definitely more. It’s all about short shorts (cough, ahem knickers), bikinis, bralets, tummy slashed tanks etc. Her look is anything but subtle but her supreme confidence means that she pulls it off, most of the time.

How to steal Rihanna’s style:

• Look at obscure, undiscovered designers to get a unique look

• Dye your hair crazy red!

• Team fluffy, floaty dresses with chunky military boots

• Jewellery should be loaded on - the bigger and brighter, the better

• Stock up on corsages and get busy putting your own stamp on a simple dress
