Steal Her Style: Kate Middleton

Ever since Wills popped the question Kate Middleton has not been out of the spotlight. She’s renowned for her understated elegance but the impending marriage has thrust her into the media and she’s set for style icon status. But with the opportunity comes the pressure. The high street has been churning out copies of the royal blue Issa dress that Kate wore when the pair announced their engagement and now the question on everyone’s lips is what will she wear on the big day?
In recent months, Kate has definitely shifted more toward custom-made outfits but her style on a day-to-day basis is usually pretty casual; always graceful and feminine with a subtle nod to current trends. She always comes across as ‘one of the girls’ and expertly adapts her look for every occasion.
Kate’s style is distinctive without being overstated. She regularly opts for neutral tones such as black and white enhanced with a flattering pop of colour here and there. Blue and fuchsia are particular favourites. She prefers full-length coats, evening dresses with plunging necklines and for casual wear she generally opts for skinny jeans, a cashmere jumper and a pair of classic oversized sunnies. Though she could easily dress top-to-toe in designer clobber, Kate is a fan of high street stores such as Topshop and will often mixes it up, which we love!
Tips for Stealing Kate’s Style:
Keep your look classic with just a hint of trend appeal which can be achieved with bags and accessories
For a striking evening look, opt for a vibrant jewel toned dress with a plunging neckline. Keep the length demure.
