Ever since she upstaged Cheryl Cole on last year's X Factor, Dannii Minogue has become a bona fide style icon. While there were question marks over some of her hair choices, her wardrobe was consistently bang on. Classic with a twist, there are now women of all ages keen to emulate her style.

She even nailed "pregnancy style" with casual separates and layers for daytime; and glamorous draping combined with empire lines for evening.

The thing with Dannii is she knows what suits her shape and sticks with it.

Fitted dresses that skim her body and show off her curves work best and are sexy without being trashy. She's especially fond of one-shouldered styles since they show off her toned arms and shoulders but keep the look classy. There's always a subtlety that keeps her look interesting. If her legs are out she keeps her top half covered and vice versa.

For daytime, jeans are a staple and she's often seen in chic draped cardigans which are ideal for travelling. While her outfits veer toward the classic and casual, heels are obligatory for this pint-sized Aussie and she doesn't skimp on accessories. Whether it's a luxurious bag, designer sunnies, a vintage trilby or chandelier earrings, there's usually something that takes the outfit from ordinary to noteworthy.

Dannii has recently designed a range called Project D, exclusive to Harvey Nichols in Dundrum, so the purists among you may want to check it out but if you want your own spin on the look, check out the tips below:

Experiment with your hair to add an edgier vibe to a simple outfit It's all about the one shoulder; dresses, playsuits or tops!

Wear clothes that are fitted rather than revealing, to show off a great figure without showing everything

Add a hat to finish off an outfit

Don't be a slave for fashion; Dannii's wardrobe is mostly timeless with simple patterns in classic cuts

Look for undiscovered fashion designers rather than slavishly following labels
