She plays one of the most fashionable girls on TV as Serena in Gossip Girl, and in real life, actress Blake Lively is rapidly hitting the dizzy heights of style icon status. It somewhat helps that Anna Wintour and Karl Lagerfeld are fans of the leggy blonde, probably meaning easy access to the crème de la crème of designer threads.

However, Blake definitely has an independent knack of putting outfits together and her style can be described as feminine and flirty but with a gritty edge that constantly sees her topping the best-dressed lists (with only a few red carpet mishaps along the way).

For a night out, Blake opts for vibrantly toned ruffled mini-dresses to show off those pins, hardening up the look with cropped leather jackets, chunky shoes and black tights, making the overall ensemble trendy but elegant. Her long locks are either left loose to do their own thing or pulled back into a chic high ponytail. The addition of statement earrings, sky-high heels – she’s a particular fan of Louboutins, and boho bangles perfectly completes the look.

Off-duty, Blake still manages to effortlessly pull off the New York chic look. Pairing skinny jeans with casual tees and blazers or a classic trench coat, she just loves to show off those legs in minis or shorts teamed with heeled ankle boots.

Tips For Stealing Blake’s Style:

Always go for a high hemline and high heels. If you’re worried about showing too much leg, throw on a pair of black opaque tights.

Contrast girly pieces with edgy ones – think flirty dresses with chunky shoes and leather jackets.

Leave hair natural and long to add a more relaxed edge to a dressed-up look.

Team classic pieces such as a trench coat or blazer with skinny jeans for daytime chic. Add in a statement accessory.

Incorporate a bold pop of colour somewhere in the outfit - Blake loves vibrantly coloured shoes.
