Is it just us, or are 14-year-olds looking more put-together than many grown women?

When did it happen that the awkward teen ceased to exist? Is it not a rite-of-passage to have a serious bout of the caterpillar phase before the emergence of the adult butterfly?

In our day, it was all Mac full-coverage foundation, copious amounts of eyeliner and the showcasing of some truly terrible lipgloss. Not to mention that god-awful blue eyeshadow that made an appearance on special occasions.

These days, 14-year-olds know the best techniques for strobing, they contour like professionals, and are decked out in mini designer wardrobes. Teenies, take note . . . you'll have the rest of your adult lives to perfect accentuating those cheekbones.

If you are lucky enough to bypass the awkward phase, why not stick with showing off your natural beauty while it's at its best? We love the fresh-faced beauty look of Yvonne Connolly's daughter Missy Keating, far left, pictured here with her mum, left.
