Sienna and Tom 'trench kiss' for Burberry
Sienna Miller and boyfriend Tom Sturridge are the new faces of Burberry
Perhaps the worst kept secret in fashion is finally out of the bag: Sienna Miller and her actor fiancé Tom Sturridge are the new faces of Burberry.
Rumours first circulated back in late April when the British couple were both dressed in Burberry at the opening night of Sturridge's Broadway play Orphans (Miller in a classic belted trench teamed with a heart-print handbag, Sturridge in a natty tailored ensemble), then gathered momentum at the Met Ball where it was Burberry head-to-toe for the loved-up pair once again.
So, continuing Burberry's 'couples concept' (past pairings include Eddie Redmayne and Cara Delevingne, and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Sam Riley), the flirty campaign sees the new parents (Miller gave birth to their first child, daughter Marlowe 11 months ago) sharing a series of romantic kisses for Mario Testino's lens.
"This was a shoot full of love and laughter", Burberry chief creative officer Christopher Bailey said in a statement released late last night, "It was such a treat to work with Sienna and Tom, and to capture their magic together."
The smooching is set to a soundtrack of single 'Hold Me' by rising star of British music Tom Odell who released his debut album this week. Odell performed a surprise live set during Burberry's autumn/winter 2013 catwalk show in February of this year.
Both actors are riding high at the moment. Factory Girl star Miller, 31, who started out as a model, received a Golden Globe nomination in 2013 for her portrayal of Tipipi Hedren in TV movie The Girl and is tipped for more award action for her upcoming film Foxcatcher. Sturridge, 27, who last graced cinema screens in an adaptation of Jack Kerouac's On the Road, received a 2013 Tony Award nomination for best actor for his role as a developmentally disabled boy in Orphans in which he starred alongside Alec Baldwin.
Once a 'boho-chic' style icon - and designer of fashion line Twenty8Twelve alongside her sister Savannah - Miller recently told French newspaper Le Figaro that as a new mother, she doesn't have much time for fashion.
"I don't know what the new fashion trends are! With my daughter, Marlowe, I don't have time to follow this anymore," she said. "I love fashion but I'm not obsessed by it. I love work, my style, but I don't think only about that, even though some people want to believe the contrary. I don't wake up in the morning saying, 'Hmm, what an icon I am!' My life is very different; I've got a baby who leaves me only two hours of peace each night."
