Red Carpet Wrap: Best and worst dressed
Who is a style queen and who should be sacked by the fashion police?
Best Dressed: Hilary Swank
She's not exactly a girlie girl -- are we the only ones to think that the actress was particularly well-cast in Boys Don't Cry? -- but the Million Dollar Babe does relish getting dressed up for the big nights out.
Shimmering nude was one of the biggest trends for this year's Oscar catwalk, and here's the perfect way to work that look.
We're loving the stunning mix of sparkles and features courtesy of Gucci Premiere. And, even better, no animal was harmed in the making of this dress (take note, Bjork!)
Worst dressed: Madonna
We're a bit torn by this. On the one hand, if we were 52 and were renowned for our tough workouts and super-strict diets, we might, just might, understand the temptation to show off our killer body.
Not all of it, you understand, but this is Madge we're talking about. She probably thought that she was being demure.
After all, she has accessorised her skimpy leotard with some fishnets, not to mention a bit of fur and lace.
Oh who are we kidding?
This combo just screams 'it may be Oscar night, but forget about those actresses wearing full-length and fabulous gowns, and look at meeeeeeee'.
As ever, Madonna leaves nothing to our imagination. Pity poor Lourdes though.
She was accompanying her mother to the Vanity Fair party, and the 14-year-old looked positively grown-up in comparison. Forget the Material Girl, it's Mortified Girl now.
