Red Carpet Wrap: Best and worst dressed
Who is a style queen and who should be taken away by the fashion police this week?
Best dressed: Eva Longoria Parker
You know just how the story goes. A small-town girl from a hot, dusty town in Texas, dreams about leaving her humdrum home for the bright lights of Hollywood.
She's going to make it big, and when she does, she is going to pull out all the stops to let everyone know she's a star. Sounds like a fairytale?! Not for Eva Longoria Parker.
The actress, who has never knowingly missed a chance to get all dressed up, looks breath-taking in her Robert Rodriguez gown.
The rose-embellished number should swamp her petite frame, but what she lacks in inches, she more than makes up for in chutzpah.
Now this is how to work a red-carpet look -- take a note, Ms Jones -- we're loving it!
Worst dressed: January Jones
We've seen the paparazzi shots, we thought we knew just what to expect from January Jones at the Emmys and we were ... right. Well, of course we were!!
We knew that the very ungrateful Ms Jones, who spends a huge amount of time and effort trying to dissociate herself from alter ego Betty Draper by parading around off-set with bed-head hair (you do know we mean she hasn't bothered to brush it, don't you?!) and vest tops that have seen better days, wouldn't transform herself into someone even a little bit stylish overnight.
Oh it'd make you cry to think of all the hard work that goes into creating the Mad Men character who is renowned for her fabulous, ultra-groomed homage to '60s style -- if only we had access to her wardrobe (and to the lovely Mr Draper, we'd be sure to appreciate both of them ... sigh).
Anyway we were all too aware that, left to her own devices, our calendar girl would end up being a serious contender on 2010's worst dressed lists.
Here she is, trying to do quirky and risky but failing miserably in a truly shocking shiny dress accessorised with a shell cup bra, asymmetrical hemline and baaad shoes.
We can only imagine what Betty would think.
