Red Carpet Wrap: Best and worst dressed
Who is a style queen and who should be taken away by the fashion police this week?
Best dressed: Helen Mirren
Say what you like about Helen Mirren, but she's never been afraid to flaunt it. Who could forget her Lady in Red moment in that fabulous bikini?
The body that launched a thousand diets . . . even if she does swear that it was all down to a flattering camera angle. And she's got it oh-so-right yet again.
This long-sleeved dress looks demure but somehow just manages to skim every curve.
She has three movies out this year, so it seems that we'll be seeing a lot of Ms Mirren on the red carpet in 2010.
Let's hope she continues her winning streak.
Worst dressed: Cate Blanchett
There are certain things that we instinctively know. For instance, Jordan will always embrace her tacky roots, Liz Hurley can't resist a plunging décolletage and thigh-high split and as for Cate Blanchett? Well, she's the epitome of style and elegance, isn't she?
At least that's we had always thought.
So imagine our surprise -- no forget that, horror -- when we spied the Aussie actress in this too-tight tuxedo at the Tony Awards.
Now we appreciate that she's a working mother, and her time is oh-so-precious.
But this is taking multi-tasking many, many steps too far . . .
Cate, we know that there's talk of filming a prequel to The Wizard of Oz, but surely there's a better place to audition for the role of Tin Man than on the red carpet?
