Rachel Zoe's Spring/Summer style tips

Rachel Zoe thinks that a "good trench coat" is the number one investment this spring.

The light cover-up is perfect for milder weather, and the famous stylist is on the hunt for this wardrobe essential.

Sharing her seasonal must haves with Glamour magazine's online blog, 42-year-old Rachel also said she's on the lookout for some arm candy too.

"I would say a good trench coat - a really good trench coat. Definitely a really good camel-colour, yummy bag of some sort. And I would say some amazing kaftan that I can just wear from the beach to a lunch to a dinner party," Rachel enthused when asked her latest must haves are.

Rachel has styled some of the world's most famous faces including Nicole Richie, Keira Knightley and Jennifer Lawrence.

She's also collaborated with a host of different fashion brands, helping to design handbags, clothes and even phones.

On the subject of summer vacations, Rachel was keen to share her top tips to smart packing. The petite blonde gave birth to her second son Kaius with Rodger Berman in December. They also have three-year-old Skyler together.

"Well, it's a little different now that I have a newborn and a toddler. The packing strategy has shifted a little bit. Packing is basically: If you're going on a weekend, then just take what you're really going to wear. And how many times are you going to leave the room? If that makes any sense. Like if you're going to sleep, read, and sit by a fire—chunky knit sweaters, leggings, comfortable boots. But if you're going on like a party weekend, then bring your favourite pieces and make sure you'll wear them," she smiled.
