Prince William in need of a hair make-over says stylist Darren Kennedy
Prince William may be known around the globe as an international heart-throb, but RTE stylist Darren Kennedy found him lacking in one crucial department after seeing him in the flesh at a red carpet event in London recently - namely his royal roots.
Our answer to TV fashion guru Gok Wan spotted the heir to the throne at the royal premiere of ‘The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey’ in London recently and said he definitely needed a make-over in the hair department.
“He’s handsome in the flesh alright, he’s very tall and is obviously very well turned out but I actually saw his bald spot shining under the lights.
“Then he turned around and I realised who it was and I remember thinking he should just get it over with and shave off the rest of his hair.
“He needs to sort it out - he’s obviously in denial!” he said.
He also explained how he was “disappointed” that pregnant Kate couldn’t make it to the event, given her severe morning sickness.
But he did more than enough star-spotted on the night to keep him happy, rubbing shoulders with luminaries like Cate Blanchett and Sir Ian McKellan.
A regular visitor to London these days, he’s currently flying high in his working life after nabbing a fashion slot on This Morning, with the resulting videos receiving an average of 300,000 hits from the show’s website every week.
Dapper Darren was joined on the red carpet of the film premiere by well-known Donegal model Faye Dinsmore, who was there with her fiance Paddy Cosgrave.
She and Darren had been brought over to London to help judge the Junk Kouture competition, which saw the three winners showing off their creations on the red carpet.
Aimed at encouraging recycling, the outfits were made from an eclectic mix of materials including orange peel and paper.
