Peter O'Brien unveils 28 key pieces exclusively for Arnotts
Irish designer has admitted to 'adoring' the three new black jersey dresses.
This is the third collaboration between Irish couturier and the Henry Street department store, and prices for the 28 pieces including knitwear, dresses, trousers, skirts and coats run from €150-€495 and come in sizes 8-16.
While parents are often reluctant to name a favourite child, Peter quickly admits to "adoring" the three new black jersey dresses.
"One is like a T-shirt with two-and-a-half circles of jersey in the skirt, perfect if you feel like doing Chita Rivera in 'West Side Story'."
The Finglas-born designer who has worked for Rochas, Christian Dior, Givenchy and Chloe in Paris is enthusiastic about a coat in two shades of marl grey, a simple black serge dress with full skirt and wide trousers in double crepe.
O'Brien explained how he visited Magees of Donegal on another project and decided "Irish tweed for an Irish department store seemed the perfect fit".
He has used the attractive nobbly black and white tweed in dropped shoulder mannish coat, a shrunken jacket with velvet trim on the collar and a full skirt with bow on the waist.
"The whole idea was to do pretty skirts in heavier fabrics, so that they weren't too girlish, making them more modern in this outerwear fabric," said the designer.
