Invest in a parka jacket for an instantly edgy look this season. The trusty jacket has long been a style favourite, and that certainly isn’t changing over the coming months.

The parka boasts a range of plus points to suit the evolving fashionista. The outwear is both practical and flatters all kinds of body shapes and sizes.

The jacket can look great as a complement to a military-style outfit.

Alternatively, it can look sporty and relaxed, or chic and elegant.

Many designers favoured the outerwear on their Fall/Winter 11 runways.

Bottega opted for an opulent look, where models strutted down the runway wearing a textured parka design in a statement mustard hue.

The jacket looked the height of glamour, slamming speculation that parka jackets can only look masculine and dowdy.

CNC also boasted an elegant design. The label’s version was form-fitting, with a big collar for the ultimate take on the trend.

Parkas are offered in an infinite variety of shades and lengths, so are perfect for even the most reluctant of fashionistas.

Go for a bulky fabric for an androgynous look, or choose a more sophisticated design made of a slimmer textile for a more chic take on the trend.

Wear with something pleated and sheer to intensify the beauty of the coat.

Those who wish for a more grungy look should team their parks jacket with a denim mini, thick tights and pair of converse trainers.
