Ooh la la: Posh heads for French capital as David Beckham joins Paris St Germain
David Beckham is set to join Paris St Germain today.
There has been much speculation about the athlete’s next move, following the end of his contract with LA Galaxy. Now it’s being reported by Sky News that the 37-year-old star has travelled to France to complete the formalities.
The sportsman, Victoria and their four children, recently relocated from America to London.
Victoria has been keeping busy in the UK, working on her clothing line and planning the launch of her first store.
Recently it was reported the brunette apparently worries for their relationship, should David sign a contract for a club in a different country.
"Vic thought leaving LA would be the last upheaval and says she came back to the UK with visions of them being together – not for him to fly to the other side of the world," a source told British magazine Closer. "She’s extremely supportive of his career, but doesn’t want the pressure of a long-distance relationship. It does put a strain on them, as it would with anyone. They work hard at their marriage and she hates the thought of him working away."
Although her planned store will be opening in London's Knightbridge, the 38-year-old will no doubt be pleased with the Paris move as it means she will be based in the acknowledged haute couture capital of the world. The designer was also said to be unhappy in London where she is often recognised, unlike LA where she was able to fly under the radar.
Last year, she shared her love of Paris when she tweeted photographs of her Karl Lagerfeld shoot for French Elle, which took place in Coco Chanel's house
She wrote: “perfect box of @CHANEL barrettes and glass of rose! X loving Paris!! X vb”.
It’s thought David is undergoing a medical examination before the news is officially announced at a press conference this afternoon.
The famous family has been spotted around the capital, but David had always made it clear his next career move would be based on "footballing reasons".
The footballer played for LA Galaxy for six years and it’s believed he received many offers from around the world, including clubs in China and Australia.
