Off the Rails duo set to launch their own fashion line

The TV presents launched their own label Lennon Courtney, a collection of 31 items of clothing.

After years spent sorting out the style dilemmas of RTE viewers, and with two books under their belt, the savvy pair have put their money where their mouth is and invested into launching a 31 piece "capsule" clothing collection, which they are hoping to export internationally.

"This is not 'let's play designers', this is 'let's build a business'," said mother-of-two Sonya.

At the core of the collection is a 'techno stretch' jersey fabric which the pair developed for their "work-horse pieces".

Closer to home, their knitwear is made by Anna Byrne in Lucan and star performers include an 'airline blanket' scarf and a lambswool cardigan which can be worn five different ways

The collection goes into stores the second week of February and entry point prices range from €55 for a cotton-feel, modal tee shirt up to €389 for a long silk dress with detachable belt, pockets and sleeves.

After years listening to dressing room heartaches, Sonya and Brendan aimed to tackle pet hates like tight arms, sleeve lengths, hemlines, clinging waistlines, the feel of clothes and price points.

"We're rookies," said Sonya.

"We've never played this game before but because we are so well placed in terms of our contacts, we've been able to get advice from all the right quarters."
