The Thurles-born designer has moved into the sphere of iconic, personalised limited edition handbags. We've had the Birkin, the Kelly and last night, 'the Kennedy' was launched, a luxurious €1,495, manufactured in the finest French calf leather by Tanner Krolle, Britain's iconic luxury leather goods company.

Louise decided to dip her toe into the market with two bags, in jet black and kerry blue. Louise described her 30 years of design show as "an extraordinary milestone". "Looking back, it has been very nostalgic and it's amazing how the imagery from old shoots evokes all the memories from the various collections."

Showstoppers last night included graphic prints and beading mirroring the architectural details of New York's Chrysler Building.

For winter, there's a slightly oversized coat and for the party season, cocktail pieces in fine laces, silk chiffons. There are three hem lengths – knee-skimming, mid calf or ankle length.

Her show closed with a cavalcade of 20 black full length dresses and a stunning bridal gown.

Her prices start at €295 for knitwear and run-up to €895 for coats.
